The 2021 Valentine’s Day was particularly very special for celebrity couple Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton who have in a relationship for five long years.
Gwen and Black met while coaching contestants on The Voice in 2014. At the time, both were still with their previous spouses. She was married to Gavin Rossdale, while Blake was married to fellow country singer Miranda Lambert.
Blake and his ex wife Miranda divorced sometimes in July 2015 after four years of marriage, their union was soiled with allegations of infidelity.
One month later, on August 5, 2015, Gwen filed for divorce from her husband, musician Gavin Rossdale after 13 years of marriage. The 51-year-old songbird shares three children with her ex husband — sons Kingston James McGregor, 14, Zuma Nesta Rock, 12, and Apollo Bowie Flynn, 7.
Both newly single, Blake and Gwen appeared together on an episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” on October 27, 2015.
The pair performed a duet of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” that left the audience wondering if the two were more than just colleagues.
In November 2015, Gwen and Black confirmed they were dating after several news outlets reported on their increased public display of affection.
After five years of dating, the celebrity couple ultimately got engaged. On October 27th 2020, Blake tweeted a photo of him and Gwen kissing — and she was donning an engagement ring.
“Hey @gwenstefani thanks for saving my 2020… And the rest of my life.. I love you. I heard a YES!” Blake tweeted.
Gwen Stefani shared the same photo on Instagram with the caption, “@blakeshelton yes please! 💍🙏🏻 gx.”
Blake said he was surprised by his engagement to Gwen during a virtual interview on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The host showed off the couple’s engagement photo posted on Stefani’s Instagram, and he was not shy in admitting the fact that he’s floored that a rugged country singer ended up with the glamorous pop superstar.
“Nobody’s more shocked about this than I am. It makes no sense. I can see that you’re looking at that picture right now and going, ‘What the hell has happened?'” Blake Shelton said.
The 2021 Valentine’s Day was very special for Gwen and Blake’s five year relationship because it was the first one they celebrated after they got engaged.
The singing celebrity couple demonstrated their unwavering love for each other on social media posts on their respective accounts.
“Happy Valentines!! Thank u @blakeshelton for loving me,” Gwen Stefani wrote on her Instagram Story along with a photo of a floral bouquet.
