Maren Morris opens up on how ‘Church’ song opened many doors for her

Maren Morris deserves no introduction because she’s one of the best country singers out there and her reputation precedes her always having us put her songs on repeat once you get to actually listen to her.

There’s no doubt Maren Morris is a bonafide musician that this generation is proud and glad to have as a country singer.

Like me, most of us were reeled into her glorious works of music perfection after she released one of the best and most-definitely timeless songs ever in ‘Church’.

That song will forever age like a fine wine that can trace its vinification from The Loire Valley.

Every time you get to watch and/or listen to the ‘Church’ song by Maren Morris, it feels as if you are listening to it for the first time and you don’t ever want it to stop, thus the predicament of always having Maren’s songs on repeat as I intimated earlier.

The ‘My Church’ single is actually Maren Morris’s debut single that was released back on January 19, 2016, that was taken from her debut studio album ‘Hero’. Since then it has actually opened a lot of doors from the Arlington, Texas musician who has since made Nashville her home.

The song was nominated for: ACM Awards for ‘Single Record of the Year’, British Country Music Association Awards for ‘International Song of the Year’, Grammy Awards for ‘Best Country Song’, the Country Music Association Awards(CMA) for ‘Single of the Year’.

The phenomenal song that was co-written by herself and Busbee helped Maren Morris win her first Grammy Awards for ‘Best Country Solo Performance’, and her first CMA for ‘Best New Artist’.

Taking all these accolades ‘Church’ achieved over the years, Maren Morris took to social media to express how grateful she is for the song changing her life completely.

“I released My Church 5 years ago and not even Nostradamus could predict the fiery trail I’d be white-knuckling. Everything I have is because of this song.” Maren Morris wrote in part on an Instagram post dedicated to the song.

“I don’t even wish to go back and impart any wisdom to that young girl who had more figured out then than she does now, because she was fearless. She had no context, no set bar… only a song and a dream. I actually wish THAT girl could tell the woman I am now to chill the [expletive] out about the details, lose your head and lay back and enjoy the ride. I’m getting back to her. 🖤” her post read on.

According to Columbia Nashville, the song set a record as the song played by the greatest number of radio stations ever for a debut single in its impact week, with 107 stations playing the song, beating the previous record of 99.

It entered the Country Airplay chart at number 59.

It first entered the Hot Country Songs chart at number 38 for the week of January 30, 2016, selling 6,000 copies that week.

It entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart two weeks later and reached number one on the Country Digital Songs chart in another four weeks.

In the US, the song has sold over 974,000 digital copies as of July 2017.

Just because the ‘Church’ song is a masterpiece, we shouldn’t mind letting you stream it once again, preferably forever. This song is timeless, and classic! enough said.

Have a listen to the record that proved Maren Morris isn’t your typical country music but a stellar one destined for nothing short of greatness.
