Kenny Chesney has managed to have his 9th Country studio album on the highest spot on the Billboard 200 with his studio album dubbed ‘Here and Now’ that has captured the hearts of many country music fans across the globe.
The week ending May 7th, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, the album has earned 233,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. alone.
This accolade is so huge that the last time a Country album reached heights was over a year ago by Carrie Underwood with her album ‘Cry Pretty’ which debuted at number 1 selling 266,000 units on its first week back on September 29, 2018-dated chart.
Luke Combs’ ‘What You See Is What You Get’ album reached the number 1 sweet spot a few months ago on the Billboard 200 and since then, there hasn’t been a piece of country music that hit the coveted number 1 spot, at least not until Kenny Chesney released ‘Here and Now’ studio album that hit the sweet number 1 spot on the Billboard 200.
Kenny Chesney who is a Humanitarian of the Year recipient has seen his ‘Here and Now’ album selling starting off with 233,000 equivalent album units comprising of 222,000 in album sales, 10,000 SEA(streaming equivalent albums) units (equaling 13.4 million on-demand streams of the set’s songs during the tracking week) and 1,000 in TEA(track equivalent albums) units.

As it turns out, ‘Here and Now’ is Kenny Chesney’s 16th top 10 album on the Billboard 200 over the years with all of the aforementioned albums reaching at the top five positions on the chart.
Just to prove how consistent and prolific Chesney has been over the years, since 2010, all eight studio albums by Chesney have either debuted at number one or number two.
Here and Now’s sales launch of 222,000 is the third-biggest sales week of the year for an album, trailing only the debuts of BTS’ Map of the Soul: 7 (347,000; March 7-dated chart) and The Weeknd’s After Hours (275,000; April 4).
