Brad Paisley dropped an thrilling performance of his brand new single ‘Off Road’ to honor incredible women of the Grand Ole Opry.
The Grand Ole Opry is a weekly American country music stage concert in Nashville, Tennessee, founded on November 28, 1925, by George D. Hay as a one-hour radio “barn dance”. Currently owned and operated by Opry Entertainment, it is the longest-running radio broadcast in US history.
Some of country music’s most celebrated musicians participated in an NBC tribute special to the Grand Ole Opry. Grand Ole Opry: 95 Years of Country Music aired on Sunday, February 14th.
The event featured hosts Blake Shelton and Brad Paisley discussing the importance of Nashville’s weekly country music showcase, which has provided a key career boost for countless artists. Performers on the star-studded program included Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks, among many others.
Brad Paisley decided to honor women of the of the Grand Ole Opry during the Sunday event, speaking highly of the likes of Dolly Parton.
“A lot of Opry history has been made by a lot of female artists who refused to stay in their lane. I wanted to sing this tonight for all of the women of the Opry, past and present, who’ve made this and the world such an interesting place. Road blocks never stopped a country girl, I’d say,” Brad Paisley said.
When he took to the stage to perform his latest single ‘Off Road’, photos and clips of iconic women in country music flashed in the background screen.
Among female country singers honored during Paisley’s performance include; Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Reba McEntire, Connie Smith, Barbara Mandrell, Jeannie Seely, Trisha Yearwood, as well contemporary country songstresses such as Kelsea Ballerini, Mickey Guyton, Carly Pearce, Taylor Swift, Ashley McBryde, Carrie Underwood, Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman and Karen Fairchild.
Grand Ole Opry: 95 Years of Country Music also featured performances from Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Garth Brooks, Kane Brown, Lady A, Little Big Town, Little Big Town, Old Crow Medicine Show, Dolly Parton, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Marty Stuart, Carrie Underwood and Trisha Yearwood.
